With the launch of new vessels featuring Lewmar Glass from major industry players including Sunseeker, Princess Yachts, Prestige & X-Yachts amongst others; Lewmar’s glass division is now firmly established as one of the foremost marine glazing suppliers.
Shackleton has supported Lewmar’s growth initiatives including its 2015 investment in digital printing and glass manufacturing capabilities. As a result Lewmar glass has grown to a multi-million pound enterprise supported by 80 direct staff working on a 24/7 shift pattern.
The Cannes Yachting Festival saw the World premiere of Sunseeker’s 74 Sport Yacht. This boat features a host of innovation including a powered electric Lewmar sunroof to maximise ventilation at the helm station. Both the 74 Sport Yacht and the newly launched Princess P70 are fitted with the latest generation of flush integrated in hull “Superping” portlights. Supplying the ports pre-installed onto the curved hull glass enables the yard to save valuable fitting time and guarantees watertight integrity as each assembly is water tested at Lewmar prior to despatch. Developed directly following customer feedback these portlights feature investment cast stainless hinges and handles complete with soft touch inserts.
The new Prestige 680S on display at Cannes features a hybrid Aluminium and Stainless patio door with powered drop window. This door is being produced on Lewmar’s recently commissioned patio door production line along with doors for Leopard Catamarans and Bavaria.
